Brittany and Luke are adventurous souls who met on a blind date and fell in love instantly. (How cute is that!!) With their busy careers, they wanted a simple yet unforgettable beach ceremony.

When they reached out to us, they had already done extensive research about destination weddings but felt they still needed guidance to bring their vision to life. They were quite specific about their preferences and needs, recognizing the value of professional assistance. 

And looking back on their journey, we couldn’t be happier to have been part of their wedding journey.

Real Wedding Q&A with Brittany and Luke!

What were your biggest fears when planning a destination wedding?

Organizing everyone to get there. And our family and friends figuring out how to do it and follow a deadline.

Is there anything about the actual destination wedding experience that surprised you?

The simplicity of planning was very surprising. And our actual wedding day went so smoothly!

What is your favorite memory of your destination wedding?

Britt- perfect view walking down the aisle- handsome groom, the most perfect clear blue waters and white sand. I did not pay any attention to resort guests during the ceremony or notice them

Luke- arriving at our cocktail hour with the Mexican trio playing beautiful music 

Did you splurge on anything travel or wedding related? If so, what was it and was it worth it?

First class plane tickets- totally worth it! 

Bridal suite in the spa- worth it! Made the day so easy getting ready and not making a mess of your hotel room.

Did you attempt to *save* on anything travel or wedding related? If so, what was it and was it worth it?

Cut out the dance floor to keep the price lower. We knew all of our guests wouldn’t dance too much.  We had such an intimate garden reception with manicured grass it worked out great.  

If you could change anything with your wedding (planning, the day itself, the location, resort, ANYTHING) – what would you change?

I don’t think there is anything we would have changed.

What kind of feedback did you get from your guests?

All amazing! They loved using Alpaca your bags for booking the trip. They also said the information emails and itinerary were amazing and made them all feel so comfortable each day or travel. They loved the resort and thought the wedding and reception was perfect. It all felt so intimate for how public it actually was. 

Now that you’ve been through it, what is your #1 best piece of advice for wedding couples entering the planning process?

Hire Ashley! Do the destination wedding! It cuts down on stress. Made the day completely enjoyable.  Seems like it was a lot more memorable for us and our guests!

In what ways did Alpaca Your Bags Travel make this less stressful for you?

Helping communicate with the venue and making room blocks. Also, we did not have to deal with our family and friends when it came to money discussions and booking deadlines.
