Hi! I’m Ashley Morris, the owner of Alpaca Your Bags Travel.  I specialize in Destination Wedding and Family Group travel, specifically to Mexico & the Caribbean.  I have been a guest on “Fly with Chris and Di” twice, once about my African Safari and once to talk about Destination Weddings and Vow Renewals.  I can’t wait to work with your group on this trip!

I started Alpaca Your Bags Travel in 2015 after a challenging experience planning my own destination wedding. Since then, I’ve been working with couples and families to plan their adventures.  Fun fact: In 2020, I rescheduled more than 26 Destination Wedding groups due to COVID.  That’s more than 1,200 travelers and nearly 3,600 individual reservations that needed to be serviced.  We can handle anything you throw at us and we are here to help!  For more fun facts about me, scroll all the way down to the bottom of this page.

Hotel Xcaret Parks & Experiences Expand

I first visited Hotel Xcaret shortly after it opened (see my blog post here!).

For a quick description on each park, see below!

Xcaret Park* – This family park encompasses all aspects of ancient Mexican culture. Enjoy authentic cuisine and delve into the ruins of the Maya civilizations at the Polé archaeological site.

Xel-Há Park** – Adventures abound at this natural park. Children and adults can enjoy a range of activities, including snorkeling, biking through jungle trails and swimming in the natural pool. Guests can also take in beautiful views from the Scenic Lighthouse.

Xplor Park*- Thrill seekers can find plenty of action-packed adventures at this park deep in the Mayan jungle. Zip lining and cave tours through underground rivers are the just the beginning of the extreme fun.

Xplor Fuego Park* – The only nighttime park in Riviera Maya offers guests astounding adventures, including driving through torch-lit courses, paddling through “lava” rivers and zip lining in the dark.

Xoximilco Cancun** – Enjoy a fiesta for all ages! This party takes place on the barges in Xoximilco and include traditional cuisine, open beer and tequila bar and plenty of games for everyone.

Xenses Park* – Ignite your senses at this half-day park. Expand your sight at the Xensatorium, test your balance at the Town, take on the Bird Flight and end the trip relaxing at the Riverlaxing, Sludgerie and Xpá.

Xavage Park -At Xavage you will discover how wild you are with the most intense activities of Cancun and the Riviera Maya. Decide your level of boldness and choose the activities that suit you best.

Add and combine the activities of the park to spend a day as extreme as you want: aquatic, terrestrial, or through the air; three, four, five, or all activities!

Xenotes Oasis Maya Tour – Explore four unique cenotes as your rappel, kayak, swim and zip line in the Mayan jungle.

Xichen Deluxe Tour – Explore the ancient remains of Chichén Itzá and Valladolid with a first-class service and cuisine.

How is the group monitoring COVID-19? Expand

Excellent question.  As we all know, we are in unprecedented times and we understand that guests may have concerns about travel.  We all hoping for the best while monitoring this ever-changing landscape.

Hotel Xcaret has some outstanding protocols in place to keep both guests and staff safe & healthy.  Their “360 Xafety” program has been been awarded the Trafel Safety Stamp from the World Travel & Tourism Council. These protocols fully comply with guidelines set forth by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Center for Disease Control (CDC). We are monitoring the situation closely and communicating with Chris & Dianne. If travel policies change for 2021 travel, we are ready to be nimble and work with the group to update timelines and deadlines if necessary.  Thank you!

Do I need a passport? Expand

If you already have a passport, please check the expiration date. The U.S. State Department recommends that international travelers have 6 months of validity on their passport after their return trip date.

Can we come earlier or stay later? Expand

Is Travel Insurance available? Expand

Since all inclusive resorts are pre-paid and non-refundable, travel insurance is encouraged to protect your investment.  Life is unpredictable; plans can change.

The cost of insurance is based on your age, your state of residency and the total cost of your trip. Due to this, travel insurance prices will be quoted for each individual guest.

• If you plan to book your own air, we can include your air in the insurance coverage – just let me know at booking
• Without insurance, there are no refunds should your plans change
• Without insurance, you will also not have any medical coverage for mishaps or catastrophic events. Your US health insurance will likely not work outside of the United States; please read the FAQ below for more detail.

All quotes start with the reservation form. Fill out that form and I will get back to you with a quote.

I am sharing a room with another invited guest. How does that work? Expand

Yes! Please coordinate with your roommate and designate ONE person to fill out the reservation form.

Reservation forms should be one per ROOM, not one per person. When I get your form, I will email both of you and explain next steps.

If you and your roommate live at different addresses, please make sure to include the second passenger’s contact info. This can go in the notes field.

What about airfare? Expand

While the group requests that you book your room with the group, you are welcome to book your own airfare.

If you would like assistance with air, we are happy to help! Bundling air with your hotel does often provides a discount, so we are happy to quote you for air as well.

If you book your own air, please forward your air confirmation to me no later than May 5, 2021. This is how we schedule your transportation pick up at your destination.

Guests who do not submit their air information by the deadline will forfeit their included transfers.

Can I book my airfare with miles or points? Expand

You are welcome to book your own airfare however you’d like (cash, points or miles).

​Due to contract deadlines, we recommend booking your hotel room as early as possible and adding air when you’re ready.

If you book your own air, please send me the confirmation by the stated deadline so I can schedule your ground transportation. Guests who do not send their air by the deadline will forfeit their included transfers.

Guest are welcome to book their own airfare at their leisure, or I can help (ashley@alpacayourbags.com) . All air quotes from Alpaca Your Bags Travel include a $25 ticketing fee.

Hotel Xcaret has several resort “sections”.
The resort can be confusing, but we are here to help!

• Adults Only Fuego –  18+ only, nearest the Ocean with multiple room types, some with special privileges
• Adults Only Agua or Spa – 18+ only, nearest the spa. River View or Garden View rooms only
• Espiral – Large “main” area, includes regular suites, swim up suites and junior suites
• Viento – Family Suites nearest the kids club, teen club and splash park. Garden or River View rooms only
• Tierra – Premium suite area with multiple room categories, some with special VIP privileges
  

My advice?
Unless you have strong feelings about Adults Only or being near Kids Amenities, focus on the room type, not the section. Tell us what rooms you like and we will help you from there! quote request form
