Hello! Karlee & Aaron have pre-reserved rooms with a special set rate for the travel window of September 13-20, 2022. Guests may arrive and depart whenever they’d like, but please note the resort requires a 3 night minimum stay. The special group rates are valid 3 days before and 3 days after this window.
DeadlinesCurrently, Mexico does not require any type of negative COVID test to enter the country.
Effective January 26, 2021, the USA *does* require a negative COVID test to re-enter the US after international travel. Nearly every resort (including UNICO) is providing complimentary testing on-site at the resort for guests.
This could change before next year, so we will keep you updated if this requirement goes away.
As of April 2021, vaccinations do not exempt anyone from testing, though this could change before February 2022.
If you’d like to read more about this requirement, please visit: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/testing-international-air-travelers.html
How is the group monitoring COVID-19? ExpandAs we all know, we are in unprecedented times and we understand that guests may have concerns about travel.
Resorts are currently allowed to be open to reduced occupancy to allow for social distancing. Resorts are regularly selling out since they are held to this lower than normal occupancy. This is why we recommend booking early to get your first choice or room types and/or dates.
I have personally made 10+ international trips since June 2020, all in the post-COVID era. I am also lived in Playa del Carmen, Mexico over winter 2021. If you’d like to see more of my travels, please visit my Instagram and click on my Stories highlights! If you’re not on IG and curious, I can send you a Google photo album.
We are monitoring the situation closely and communicating with Karlee & Aaron. If travel policies change for 2022 travel, we are ready to be nimble and work with the group to update timelines and deadlines if necessary. Thank you!
Do I need a passport? ExpandYes, all international travelers are required to have a passport, including infants and children. To learn more about the application process, please visit the U.S. Department of State website.
If you already have a passport, please check the expiration date. The U.S. State Department recommends that international travelers have 6 months of validity on their passport after their return trip date.
We recommend checking your passport now to see if you need to renew – please don’t wait until the last minute!
Is Travel Insurance available? ExpandBecause group reservations at all inclusive resorts are pre-paid and non-refundable, travel insurance is encouraged to protect your investment. Life is unpredictable; plans can change.
The cost of insurance is based on your age, your state of residency and the total cost of your trip. Due to this, travel insurance prices will be quoted for each individual guest.
This means that the group has paid a deposit to pre-reserve rooms for your group.
All Inclusive resorts are priced per person, based on how many individuals are booked in a room.
The rates listed are PER PERSON and include:
Optional Travel insurance is available to protect your investment. See insurance FAQ below for more details.
At UNICO, amenities include:
*May be on reduced hours due to COVID restrictions, subject to change
Can we come earlier or stay later? ExpandAbsolutely! If you would like to stay for dates before or after this date window, that is no problemo!
Please include your requested dates in your reservation form and I will confirm availability!
What happens if I don’t book with Alpaca Your Bags? ExpandThe couple has paid a deposit to pre-reserve rooms for your group. They have a group contract that allows them to offer additional benefits for their guests.
The group kindly asks that you book your hotel within our designated group contract here at Alpaca Your Bags Travel.
There are several reasons why you should honor the group’s wishes and book the hotel portion with the group:
Guests who do not book within the group contract unfortunately:
I am sharing a room with another invited guest. How does that work? Expand
Yes! Please coordinate with your roommate and designate ONE person to fill out the reservation form.
Reservation forms should be one per ROOM, not one per person. When I get your form, I will email both of you and explain next steps.
If you and your roommate live at different addresses, please make sure to include the second passenger’s contact info. This can go in the notes field.
Is there a payment plan? Expand Yes! Initial deposits are due on March 16, 2022. There are no set requirements for payments, as long as final payments are made by the deadline. While the group requests that you book your room with the group, you are welcome to book your own airfare.
Due to contract deadlines, we recommend booking your hotel room as early as possible and adding air when you’re ready.
If you book your own air, please forward your air confirmation email to me no later than July 13, 2022. This is how we schedule your transportation pick up at your destination.
Guests who do not submit their air information by the deadline will forfeit their included transfers.
If you would like assistance with air, we are happy to help! There is a $25 ticketing fee included in all of our air quotes.
