Where to Stay: All-inclusive resorts in Jamaica
Home to the airport, Montego Bay is the most convenient and easiest to access of the all-inclusive destinations in Jamaica. There are all kinds of all-inclusive resort options in Montego Bay – from budget-friendly family spots to luxurious couples-only resorts. Montego Bay is located on a bay (hence the name), so the water is generally calm and perfect for swimming. Of course, no trip to Montego Bay would be complete without a visit to Scotchies for jerk. Do you sense a theme with my love for food?!
It’ll take you about 90 minutes to reach Ocho Rios from the airport, and once you’re there – adventure is on your doorstep. This is the all-inclusive destination in Jamaica for you if you’re looking for outdoor fun and activities! Ocho Rios is home to the famous Dunns River Falls and features mostly small, cove-like beaches.
Negril is about 60 minutes from the Montego Bay Airport and is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in Jamaica, including the famous Seven Mile Beach. If you’re looking for a relaxed all-inclusive family vacation in Jamaica, Negril is the spot for you. No resort in Negril can be higher than the palm trees! This chilled out vacation spot is also home to Rick’s Cafe, where guests can leap off a cliff into the water or sip delicious drinks while watching others take the plunge.
What to Do in Jamaica
Montego Bay, Ocho Rios, and Negril all offer gorgeous all-inclusive resorts across Jamaica, but the fun doesn’t stop there. With outdoor adventures for kids and adults alike, there’s an activity for everyone.
Climb an actual waterfall? Yep. This unique adventure is suitable for most kids and adults. The only drawback is that the Falls can get pretty crowded in peak seasons, so you may want to explore YS Falls if you’re looking for the same kind of experience in a less crowded environment.
Jamaica has plenty of options for outdoor adventurers! Try jungle river tubing or floating down the river on a cool bamboo raft.
Remember the classic movie Cool Runnings? “Jamaica we have a bobsled team!” Head to Mystic Mountain in Ocho Rios to take an exhilarating bobsled ride down the mountain. Looking for even more thrills? Zoom down the zipline for even more fun.
Floyd’s Pelican Bar is a tiki hut made of driftwood that’s located three miles out from shore in the Caribbean Sea. To get to Pelican Bar, you take an exciting ride in a local fisherman’s boat, cruising Jamaica’s south Coast. Once at the bar, you can sip a Red Stripe, take a swim, or play dominos with locals while waiting for your freshly caught seafood meal cooked over a coal fire. End your once-in-a-lifetime adventure with a perfect sunset view.
