Hello! Kathy & Kayvon have pre-reserved rooms with a special set rate for the travel window of April 12-17, 2023. Guests may arrive and depart whenever they’d like, but please note the resort requires a 3 night minimum stay.

Room deposit ($100 per person) is due on August 17, 2022. If a guest chooses to purchase optional travel insurance, insurance premium is due at time of deposit.

Is COVID testing required for travel? Expand

Entering Mexico: Currently, Mexico does not require any type of negative COVID test to enter the country.

Returning to the US: Effective June 13, 2022, the US no longer requires a negative covid test to return to the US. Do I need a passport? Expand

Yes, all international travelers are required to have a passport, including infants and children. To learn more about the application process, please visit the  U.S. Department of State website.

The passport card or enhanced drivers license is NOT valid for air travel. The only acceptable document is the passport book.

If you already have a passport, please check the expiration date. The U.S. State Department recommends that international travelers have 6 months of validity on their passport after their return trip date.

We recommend checking your passport now to see if you need to renew – please don’t wait until the last minute!

Is Travel Insurance available? Expand

Because group reservations at all inclusive resorts are pre-paid and non-refundable, travel insurance is encouraged to protect your investment.  Life is unpredictable; plans can change.

The cost of insurance is based on your age, your state of residency and the total cost of your trip. Due to this, travel insurance prices will be quoted for each individual guest.

• Without insurance, there are no refunds should your plans change
• Without insurance, you will also not have any medical coverage for mishaps or catastrophic events.
• Your US health insurance will likely not work outside of the United States; please read the FAQ below for more detail.

Absolutely! ​If you would like to stay for dates before or after this date window, that is no problemo!

Please include your requested dates in your reservation form and I will confirm availability! Note: rates outside the room block dates may differ from our group rates quoted here.

Is there a payment plan? Expand

Yes!  Initial deposits are due on August 17, 2022. The required deposit is $100 per adult. If the optional travel insurance is included, insurance must be paid with the trip despot.

There are no set requirements for payments, as long as final payments are made by the deadline.  Final payments are due on January 12, 2023.

What is a room block? Expand

This means that the group has paid a deposit to pre-reserve rooms for your group.

• The couple has signed a contract with the resort and has committed to a minimum number of rooms
• Only rooms booked with Alpaca Your Bags Travel count toward this contract
• The resort has a 3 night minimum stay requirement, but you are welcome to  come earlier or stay later!
• We have reserved several different room types for you to choose from. Descriptions follow this FAQ

I am sharing a room with another invited guest. How does that work? Expand

Yes! Please coordinate with your roommate and designate ONE person to fill out the reservation form.

Reservation forms should be one per ROOM, not one per person. When I get your form, I will email both of you and explain next steps.

If you and your roommate live at different addresses, please make sure to include the second passenger’s contact info. This can go in the notes field.

What about airfare? Expand

While the group requests that you book your room with the group, you are welcome to book your own airfare. ​

Due to contract deadlines, we recommend booking your hotel room as early as possible and adding air when you’re ready.

If you book your own air, please forward your air confirmation email to me no later than February 15, 2023.  This is how we schedule your transportation pick up at your destination. The best airport option for this hotel is CUN (Cancun International airport).

Guests who do not submit their air information by the deadline will forfeit their included transfers.

If you would like assistance with air, we are happy to help! There is a $50 ticketing fee included in all of our air quotes.

 

What happens if I don’t book with Alpaca Your Bags? Expand

The couple has paid a deposit to pre-reserve rooms for your group. They have a group contract that allows them to offer additional benefits for their guests.

The group kindly asks that you book your hotel within our designated group contract here at Alpaca Your Bags Travel.

There are several reasons why you should honor the group’s wishes and book the hotel portion with the group:

• The group has worked with me to negotiate a contract for the ENTIRE group. This includes a special set rate and included transportation.
• Groups are given priority status at the resort, so you might miss out on some VIP treatment.
• Groups are given priority room assignments, so if you book directly, you’re likely getting a room that couldn’t be sold to a group. It will be leftover inventory, probably in a undesirable location away from everyone else.
• Groups are given priority in terms of an oversold situation. If the hotel over sells, your group is protected but his reservation is not. You could be walked to another location.

Guests who do not book within the group contract unfortunately:

• Will not get the group rates
• Will have to pay up front vs. over time.
• Will not receive any pre-departure, trip support or post-trip support from me.
• Unfortunately I cannot assist with travel arrangements made outside of the group, nor can I assist in the event of an emergency.
• Will be required to pay a day pass on property to attend wedding events. Note: Day pass sales are not guaranteed and are extremely limited due to covid occupancy restrictions.

Double check the name on your passport! Expand

The name that you use on your reservation needs to match the name on your passport exactly.  Please do not use nicknames, shortened names, etc. Please double check your passport to ensure that your name matches, or change fees may apply. Thanks!

What are the requirements for COVID-19 testing? Expand

Entering Your Destination:  Your destination may have specific COVID testing requirements to *enter* the country.  Please make sure that you understand these before booking. For a list of current requirements for popular destinations, reference COVID TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: MEXICO AND CARIBBEAN

Returning to the USA: Effective January 26, 2021 and until further notice, ALL travelers returning to the US – regardless of vaccination status – must present a negative COVID-19 test to re-enter the country.

Passport processing is delayed: Is your passport valid & unexpired? Expand

A passport is required for international travel, including for children & babies. Many countries (including Mexico, Costa Rica, St Lucia and throughout Europe) require that passports be valid for six months AFTER RETURN DATE OF TRAVEL.

Are you using a debit card? Expand

Most debit cards have daily charge limits. Depending on your bank, this daily charge limit may be as low as $500.

Please confirm the daily charge limit with your bank prior to submitting a large debit card payment. If you attempt to charge over your daily limit, your card will be declined. Note: Debit Cards are NOT recommended for international travel. Ask me for more details.

Are you pregnant or planning to become pregnant? Expand

Pregnancy Restrictions: Some trips have restrictions for pregnant travelers. For example, cruise lines will not board a passenger after her 24th week of pregnancy. Ask me for more details

Travel Insurance and Pregnancy: Please read the coverage info carefully. In many policies, pregnancy is considered a pre-existing condition and is not a covered cancellation reason. In this case, you may want to consider “Cancel for Any Reason” coverage, an optional upgrade.

Are you traveling with a child without BOTH biological parents present? Expand

Children under 18 years of age not traveling with both parents or legal guardian(s) may need to present a notarized letter from the absent parent/guardian granting permission to travel outside the United States. This letter should also authorize the adult to provide emergency medical care if necessary.

If you are traveling to Canada and have been convicted of a DUI or DWI you will likely not be admitted to the country.
