Hello! Anne Burkholder has chosen to celebrate her 40th birthday at the beautiful Secrets Puerto Los Cabos in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico!  Her travel dates are October 1-5, 2022.  Friends may arrive and depart whenever they’d like, but please note the resort requires a 3 night minimum stay.

Deadlines
Rooms are not on hold and there is no “set” deadline. However, this resort is extremely popular and will sell out. Due to rising travel costs, we recommend booking your room as soon as you are able. Travel Agent

Entering Mexico: Currently, Mexico does not require any type of negative COVID test to enter the country.

Returning to the US: Effective January 2021, the USA *does* require a negative COVID test to re-enter the US after international travel.  Nearly every resort (including Dreams) provides testing on-site at the resort for guests. We will share more information about how to schedule this test when you are closer to travel.

Do I need a passport? Expand

Yes, all international travelers are required to have a passport, including infants and children. To learn more about the application process, please visit the  U.S. Department of State website.

The passport card or enhanced drivers license is NOT valid for air travel. The only acceptable document is the passport book.

If you already have a passport, please check the expiration date. The U.S. State Department recommends that international travelers have 6 months of validity on their passport after their return trip date.

We recommend checking your passport now to see if you need to renew – please don’t wait until the last minute!

Because group reservations at all inclusive resorts are pre-paid and non-refundable, travel insurance is encouraged to protect your investment.  Life is unpredictable; plans can change.

The cost of insurance is based on your age, your state of residency and the total cost of your trip. Due to this, travel insurance prices will be quoted for each individual guest.

• Without insurance, there are no refunds should your plans change
• Without insurance, you will also not have any medical coverage for mishaps or catastrophic events.

I am sharing a room with another invited guest. How does that work? Expand

Yes! Please coordinate with your roommate and designate ONE person to fill out the reservation form.

Reservation forms should be one per ROOM, not one per person. When I get your form, I will email both of you and explain next steps.

If you and your roommate live at different addresses, please make sure to include the second passenger’s contact info. This can go in the notes field.

What about airfare? Expand

While Anne requests that you book your room with the group, you are welcome to book your own airfare. ​

Due to group deadlines, we recommend booking your hotel room as early as possible and adding air when you’re ready.

If you book your own air, please forward your air confirmation email to me no later than August 2, 2022..  This is how we schedule your transportation pick up at your destination.

The only airport option for this hotel is SJD, Los Cabos International airport. Secrets is approx. 30 minutes from the airport.

Guests who do not submit their air information by the deadline will forfeit their included transfers.

If you would like assistance with air, we are happy to help! There is a $50 ticketing fee per person for all air purchases.

The name that you use on your reservation needs to match the name on your passport exactly.  Please do not use nicknames, shortened names, etc. Please double check your passport to ensure that your name matches, or change fees may apply. Thanks!

What are the requirements for COVID-19 testing? Expand

Entering Your Destination:  Your destination may have specific COVID testing requirements to *enter* the country.  Please make sure that you understand these before booking. For a list of current requirements for popular destinations, reference COVID TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: MEXICO AND CARIBBEAN

Returning to the USA: Effective January 26, 2021 and until further notice, ALL travelers returning to the US – regardless of vaccination status – must present a negative COVID-19 test to re-enter the country.

Passport processing is delayed: Is your passport valid & unexpired? Expand

A passport is required for international travel, including for children & babies. Many countries (including Mexico, Costa Rica, St Lucia and throughout Europe) require that passports be valid for six months AFTER RETURN DATE OF TRAVEL.

Most debit cards have daily charge limits. Depending on your bank, this daily charge limit may be as low as $500.

Please confirm the daily charge limit with your bank prior to submitting a large debit card payment. If you attempt to charge over your daily limit, your card will be declined. Note: Debit Cards are NOT recommended for international travel. Ask me for more details.

Are you pregnant or planning to become pregnant? Expand

Pregnancy Restrictions: Some trips have restrictions for pregnant travelers. For example, cruise lines will not board a passenger after her 24th week of pregnancy. Ask me for more details

Travel Insurance and Pregnancy: Please read the coverage info carefully. In many policies, pregnancy is considered a pre-existing condition and is not a covered cancellation reason. In this case, you may want to consider “Cancel for Any Reason” coverage, an optional upgrade.

Are you traveling with a child without BOTH biological parents present? Expand

Children under 18 years of age not traveling with both parents or legal guardian(s) may need to present a notarized letter from the absent parent/guardian granting permission to travel outside the United States. This letter should also authorize the adult to provide emergency medical care if necessary.
