Excellent question.  As we all know, we are in unprecedented times and we understand that guests may have concerns about travel.  We all hoping for the best while monitoring this ever-changing landscape.  Of course, the couple would like as many people as possible to join them for this momentous occasion.

We are all beholden to the policies and procedures of the resorts and airlines.  At this time, resorts are focused on those traveling in the next 90 days.  They have not made any policy changes to those traveling in 2022.  In fact, 2021 and 2022 dates are booking quickly as 2020 groups reschedule for next year. We expect that inventory will continue to tighten as travelers plan their post-COVID vacations.

We are monitoring the situation closely and communicating with Alex & Jordan. If travel policies change for 2022 travel, we are ready to be nimble and work with the couple to update timelines and deadlines if necessary.  Thank you!

What if I book and need to cancel? Expand

Since all inclusive resorts are pre-paid and non-refundable, travel insurance is encouraged to protect your investment.  Life is unpredictable; plans can change.

The cost of insurance is based on your age, your state of residency and the total cost of your trip,

Due to this, travel insurance prices will be quoted for each individual guest.

• If you plan to book your own air, we can include your air in the insurance coverage – just let me know at booking
• Without insurance, there are no refunds should your plans change
• Without insurance, you will also not have any medical coverage for mishaps or catastrophic events. Your US health insurance will likely not work outside of the United States; please read the FAQ below for more detail.

Travel insurance is encouraged and may protect you if you need to cancel your trip. Since all-inclusives are pre-paid, insurance protects your investment if you need to change your plans.

Travel insurance includes more than just cancellation coverage… it includes post-departure coverage and medical coverage as well!

Did you know that most USA health insurances do NOT work outside of the United States? If you need to see a doctor for an illness or a small mishap, you will be charged in cash upfront before a doctor will treat you. Insurance helps reimburse you for these unexpected costs.

Since travel insurance costs are based on your state of residency, your age and the final cost of your trip, quotes will be provided to each individual guest.

What happens if I don’t book with Alpaca Your Bags? Expand

The couple has paid a deposit to pre-reserve rooms for your group. They have a group contract that allows them to offer additional benefits for their guests.

There are several reasons why you should honor the couple’s wishes and book the hotel portion with the group:

• The couple has worked with me to negotiate a contract for the ENTIRE group. This allows the couple to offer some amazing and fun surprises for all of you.
• These events and special amenities are based on a group minimum and the couple is required to meet that minimum number of rooms. Rooms booked outside the group contract do not count toward this minimum.
• Groups are given priority status at the resort, so you might miss out on some VIP treatment.
• Groups are given priority room assignments, so if you book directly, you’re likely getting a room that couldn’t be sold to a group. It will be leftover inventory, probably in a undesirable location away from everyone else.
• Groups are given priority in terms of an oversold situation. If the hotel over sells, your group is protected but his reservation is not. You could be walked to another location.

Guests who do not book within the group contract unfortunately:

• Will not get the group rates
• Will have to pay up front vs. over time.
• Will not receive any pre-departure, trip support or post-trip support from me.
• Unfortunately I cannot assist with travel arrangements made outside of the group, nor can I assist in the event of an emergency.
• Finally, you are not “officially” recognized by the hotel as being part of our event.  The hotel group contract and wedding event pricing are planned in tandem.

Guests staying off property will be charged a day pass to attend the wedding events.  The resort has the right to stop selling day passes if the property reaches 90% capacity or greater. Off-property guests are welcome for 30 minutes prior to the ceremony start and will be asked to vacate the premises 30 minutes after the event ends.

What is a room block? Expand

This means that the couple has paid a deposit to pre-reserve rooms for your group.

• The couple has signed a contract with the resort and has committed to a minimum number of rooms
• Only rooms booked with Alpaca Your Bags Travel count toward this contract
• The resort has a 3 night minimum stay requirement, but you are welcome to  come earlier or stay later!
• We have reserved several different room types for you to choose from. Descriptions follow this FAQ

Do I need a passport? Expand

If you already have a passport, please check the expiration date. The U.S. State Department recommends that international travelers have 6 months of validity on their passport after their return trip date.

Can we come earlier or stay later? Expand

​If you would like to stay for dates before or after this date window, that is no problemo!

Please include your requested dates in your reservation form and I will confirm availability!

The rates listed are PER PERSON and include:

• Hotel Accommodations
• All Inclusive Meal Plan – Also includes all beverages including alcohol
• Round trip shared transportation between the destination airport & your resort
• Hotel, Tax & gratuities
• All wedding events & activities

How do I get a quote for my room? Expand

All quotes start with the reservation form. Fill out that form and I will get back to you with a quote.

​In your reservation form, make sure to include the ROOM TYPE you want to book. See below for info!

Is there a payment plan? Expand

Yes!  You may make your deposit any time before the RSVP due date.

You are welcome to pay on your balance any time you’d like, as long as the balance is paid in fully by the due date.

There are no set requirements for payments, as long as the balance is paid in full by the due date. We do ask that you make your payment a minimum of $150 per payment. Thank you!

I am sharing a room with another invited guest. How does that work? Expand

Yes! Please coordinate with your roommate and designate ONE person to fill out the reservation form.

Reservation forms should be one per ROOM, not one per person. When I get your form, I will email both of you and explain next steps.

If you and your roommate live at different addresses, please make sure to include the second passenger’s contact info. This can go in the notes field.

What about airfare? Expand

While the couple requests that you book your room with the group, you are welcome to book your own airfare.

If you would like assistance with air, we are happy to help! There is a $25 ticketing fee included in all of our air quotes.

If you book your own air, please forward your air confirmation to me by the deadline listed in your trip invoice. This is how we schedule your transportation pick up at your destination.

Guests who do not submit their air information by the deadline will forfeit their included transfers.

Can I book my airfare with miles or points? Expand

You are welcome to book your own airfare however you’d like (cash, points or miles).

​Due to contract deadlines, we recommend booking your hotel room as early as possible and adding air when you’re ready.

If you book your own air, please send me the confirmation by the stated deadline so I can schedule your ground transportation. Guests who do not send their air by the deadline will forfeit their included transfers.

Guest are welcome to book their own airfare at their leisure, or I can help (ashley@alpacayourbags.com) . All air quotes from Alpaca Your Bags Travel include a $25 ticketing fee.
